Vietnam AI Day 2025: A Launchpad for Artificial Intelligence Development

Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day (AI4VN 2025) officially opened on September 26 in Hanoi, drawing a large number of experts, policymakers, businesses, and technology students. Under the theme “AI for Innovation and Sustainable Development”, the event is expected to become a crucial bridge, accelerating the integration of AI into daily life and production while shaping Vietnam’s position on the global AI map.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology emphasized that AI presents Vietnam with a historic opportunity to narrow the development gap. However, this also poses challenges in governance, talent development, and ethical use of technology. The government has identified AI as a core technology that will drive the country’s digital transformation.

AI4VN 2025 spans two days, featuring seminars, exhibitions, and technology matchmaking activities. Experts from Vietnam and abroad will discuss key issues, from building a legal framework for AI and nurturing a startup ecosystem, to applying AI in education, healthcare, finance, and agriculture. Cutting-edge technologies are being showcased, such as multilingual chatbots, AI-powered medical imaging systems, and logistics optimization solutions.

A highlight of this year’s program is the AI Hackathon, where student teams and tech startups compete in a 48-hour challenge to solve real-world problems. The contest serves as an incubator for new ideas and a platform for companies to connect with young talent.

Alongside professional sessions, the exhibition area features dozens of booths displaying AI-powered “made in Vietnam” products, ranging from IoT devices for smart agriculture to Vietnamese speech recognition software and automation solutions for manufacturing. These exhibits reflect the rapid growth of Vietnam’s AI community.

Since its inception in 2018, AI4VN has grown into the largest annual AI event in the country, connecting policymakers, researchers, and businesses. In 2025, it is expected not only to inspire but also to foster concrete collaborations, laying the foundation for Vietnam to accelerate on the regional AI race.
