The Vietnam Invention Association has officially launched the IPSTAR 2025 Awards, a national program recognizing outstanding inventors and innovative technologies, ahead of the National Innovation and Startup Festival – Techfest Vietnam 2025 and to mark the Association’s 10th anniversary.

The initiative aligns with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and celebrates the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation, passed by the National Assembly on June 27, 2025, which takes effect on October 1.
Now in its fifth edition, IPSTAR has become a key platform celebrating Vietnam’s inventors since its inception in 2021. The 2025 awards will feature two categories: one for individuals who have created multiple patented inventions or utility solutions, and another for outstanding technological products derived from patented innovations.
Eligible participants include individuals and organizations with notable inventions registered in Vietnam or internationally between January 2016 and September 2025. Young inventors under 18 who filed patent applications before reaching that age are also encouraged to participate. Products recognized as science and technology enterprises and developed based on patented inventions are eligible, while computer software copyrights and industrial designs are excluded from this year’s program.
According to the organizing committee, the IPSTAR program serves as a bridge between inventors, businesses, and policymakers, fostering stronger collaboration in research, development, and commercialization. Recognized innovations will receive widespread media coverage and access to investment and partnership opportunities, helping turn creative ideas into market-ready products that contribute to economic growth.
“The IPSTAR Awards not only honour intellectual achievement but also promote the practical application of science and technology in daily life,” the Association said in a statement. “It is part of Vietnam’s broader effort to build an innovation-driven economy where intellectual property becomes a key growth engine.”
Through the 2025 edition, the Vietnam Invention Association aims to further raise public awareness of intellectual property, strengthen connections between research and business, and inspire a new generation of inventors contributing to national development.
